Meri
Explosive Engine (cica 1895) Model Casting Kit: The Meri
Explosive Engine is a truely unique, and beautiful replica of the double
acting gas engine patented by Michael Meri in 1895. Envision a spark plug
and combustion chamber on both sides of a single piston, similar to a double
acting steam engine. The Meri is a 6 cycle engine, acheiving smooth power
equavelent to a two cylinder engine, yet having only one cylinder. This
set of engine castings and detailed drawings and instructions allow the
builder to construct a beautiful model of this turn-of-the-century engine.
The engine is intended to run on illuminating gas and must have cooling
water circulated through it. A number of these replica engines have been
built and run. The engine features a 1.25 inch bore, 3.25 inch stroke,
a 10.5 inch flywheels, and is approximately 1/4 scale. Included in the
kit are complete, large scale drawings, 16 iron and 3 brass castings, and
a brass name tag. This is truely a handsome engine. Partially or fully
machined kits are available. Please write for a detailed brochure. The

engines produced. The engine is for the experienced model builder and comes
with just the basic case and cylinder castings. The builder must scratch
build the cylinder liners, pistons, valve-train, crankshaft, and hardware.
The engine comes with a top and bottom crancase casting, two cylinder castings,
waterpump housing, carburator, machined gears. This kit comes from Austria,
and portions of the plans are in german, however the plan set is excellent.
The castings are of a fine quality. The castings

Hubbard
1912 Single Cylinder Boat Engine: This
engine is a 1/5 scale working model of the early type 2 stroke boat or
launch engines. This model is typical of the many brands of boat engines
produces at the turn-of-the-century. This model has a bore of 24mm and
a stroke of 25mm giving a total displacement of 13 cc. Althogh the originals
used igniter ignition, this model cleaverly uses a glow plug rigged to
look like the old igniton mechanism.Supplied with an ample flywheel, the
engine starts easily and runs smoothly runs at 400 to 1500 RPM. The engine
comes from Austria, and portions of the plans are in German, but easily
understood by the machinest. The kit includes the flywheel , engine and
end cover castings, as well as material for the cylinder liner, piston,
cylinder head, and other misc. materials. The

Robinson Kit "X" Half Scale "hot
tube ignition" Gas Engine c 1890 The
Robinson Kit "X" is a hot tube ignition half scale model of the original
Robertson Engine produced at the end of the 18th century. The engine had
a number of innovative features which included a star drive to operate
the exhaust valve (instead of two gears as used on most four stroke engines)
and a patented Epicyclic Drive. The engine was known as the "CHIPPIE" engine
and was used to operate various catering equipment. Castings include the
water base, main bearing caps, cylinder, cylinder liner, epicyclic gearbox
casing, piston, and flywheel. Also included is a brass nameplate. The builder
