1895 Replica of the Rider-Ericsson Hot Air Pumping Engine: The Rider-Ericsson was manufactured in quantity at the turn of the century for basic water pumping and light machine shop duty. The engine featured a water cooled jacket for the cold section, thereby increasing the efficiency of the unit. This model realistically features a working water pump that circulates cooling water through the engine. The two pistons are nested inside each other driven by a unique drive yoke arrangement making this a wonderful engine to watch running.

The model engine is 6 " tall, mounted on a oak finsihed base. It has a beautiful curved spoke flywheel, and polished brass pump and piping. the basci engine is painetd in red and black. Alcohol is used as fuel and the engine will run for 15 to 20 minutes on each filling of fuel. Included is a small 12 page booklet which shows the history of this type hot air engine.

"Peanut Rider" Hot Air Model Engine: This is one of our favorite model engines. It looks teriffic and runs well. The original Rider engines were manufactured in the 1880's. The engines had separate sides for the hot-cold section and the power piston. The hot section was a firebox and you could burn wood, coal, oil, gas,...anything that would produce heat! This model is 9 " tall, mounted on a oak base. The engine is black with a red flywheel. We run one at shows and, by trimming the wick back, run almost 40 minutes on one fillup of alcohol. This is a favorite of all who see it, and the price is very modest for the value.

Price in North America, completely assembled, ready to run is $150 plus shipping. Order model SOLAR #10.
