Force
3 Electric Car: The Force Electric Sedan is one of the most popular
electric cars on the market today. Solectria, started by a group of MIT
Graduates, is devoted to electric vehicle technology. The Force 3 is based
upon a GEO Metro chassis, and has a nominal 50 mile range with lead acid
batteries. It is the only 4 passenger, 4 door sedan meeting EV American
safety standards. It is also available with Nickel-Metal Hydride Batteries
giving it a 100 mile range, however the cost of these batteries more than
doubles the price of the car. Recharging can be accomplished in as little
as 3 1/2 hours. If you think about using one of these cars to go to work,
and have a recharging outlet available at work, you could go up to fifty
miles each way without any serious problems. It is difficult to sacrafice
personally when your neighboor is going to drive his extended wheelbase
V10 powered dual axel 4 wheel drive monster truck with just one person
in it to work every day without the conscience to even think twice about
it. But you will sleep at night knowing that you are doing your part. Price:
